about
The Arithmetics make their mighty debut as a dub reggae project with a tinge of modern production in “Web of Lies.” The Denver-based musician collective assembled as an iteration of their current project The Height (from A-Mac and the Height) when bassist Stephen “Eski” Edwards and guitarist John Sayers went into the studio with a goal of laying down some dub reggae. Drawing from the influence of modern dub artists like Hollie Cook and Josh Heinrichs, the band collaborated with vocalist Eve Marie Jennings to concoct lyrics that paint the picture of a spider sucking the blood of its victims as a symbolic representation of being deceived by dishonest people. While the inspiration may seem dark, it turned into the perfect piece of auditory art to launch a brand new project of top-notch Denver musicians.
